Default Once upon trying to install some new springs... :(

So here it goes. I bought my 03 Si with 37K on it. I was ok with buying a car that had previous performance modifications on it. CAI, Exhaust and some coilovers.

I recently actually met the previous owner of the car. And he had the car for about 3 months and 1000 miles. He purchased it from a girl (probably didn't rape it too hard). He said he put the mods on it thinking he was going to keep the car long term but traded it back in.

The coilovers that were on it are from the brand Arospeed. Ebay cheap crap. That suck. The car would bottom out the springs like crazy, speedbumps were hell, cracks in the rode were hell. The car rode like a model T. Finally my B&G sport springs are here and I am ready to install. After much hell I finally get the rears on. I have never done this before so it was a learning process. Oh well.

I start to take the fronts apart. I get the crappy arospeeds off. New springs are on, ready to go up... So I look up into the strut assembly and notice something is off. There is no top spring retainin cup thing. THe springs would ride on just bare fenderwell. Turns out they were removed for the crappy Arospeeds. So I put the fronts back together with the old crappy setup. DANG IT!!! I hate this. And am going to Honda to get those guys. They said like 20 bucks a pop. The front should be back on next Monday.

Already feels amazing with new springs on the rear though!!!

ARE YOU SERIOUS!? THERE WERE NO TOP HATS?!

Sorry for the caps but WTF!

You should have got new struts to go along with the install. Or order them now before redoing the front.

Same thing happened to me when I bought my Accord, I spent about $150 buying parts for the Ft and Rr suspension that were missing from the previous owner.

Well the struts actually seem fine. With the crappy coilovers he had on there it doesn't look like it needed those top hats? I dunno... Or maybe it did and that is why the car rode like total crap??? I dunno. The struts do seem fine though and I am planning on getting everything put back to normal.
