I want to buy a pair of skunk 2 cams what would be the best ones for me tuner or pro series and what stage?

-Skunk2 intake manifold
-Skunk 2 ???? cams
-Skunk2 cam gears
-JDM password short Ram Intake
-Header Not sure what type Yet
-75 shot of ZEX spry
I know alot of people on this site don't like spry but I do so please no jokes and thank u so much for all the help and all the help u guys have given me so far

what's your CR or bottom end gonna consist of?

 

Every thing eles will be stock with a good tune for a while or until **** breakes I hope not, LOL but one day when I get out of school I will do a full build with turbo + spry with all new parts but for now it will remain stock this is what a local shop said to do and then they will tune it real good for me

 

Stock CR or bottom end, stick to the skunk2 stage 1 tuner series. Might get some good gains with the stage 2's if you get some flat faced valves and a thinner headgasket to bump up your CR. You don't wanna overcam your build

compression ratio=CR
im running a similar setup on my c1
-naws
+je 12.5:1 pistons/ctr pistons

my question is that im going with the sk2 pro series 1 cams so if i get the cams before the pistons and i put the cams in will my car run like ****?????

Your stock CR (compression ratio) will be to low to get the full potential out of bigger cams, stick to a stage 1 cam with stock CR, but if you decide to bump up your CR, then go for a stage 2, don't make the mistake of overcamming your build.

 

there's plenty of people running the stage 2 cams on a stock block with stock cr. you'll make more power than the stage 1's.

 

are you talking about tuner series stage 1's??
so if i get the pro series stage 1's i should wait till i get the pistons to put them in right? cause i really like the pro series so that i have room to build around them instead of having to buy cams again once i up the CR.

 

Im talking about the stage 1 tuner series, but if you plan on rebuilding your bottom end in the future to put in higher CR pistons, then just wait, save your money, and do it all at the same time, that way you don't have to remove your head twice, assuming your taking you head off to install your valve springs and cams.

 

someone toldme that for my build the cam gears would be a waste and that they wont do any thing is this ture so I just save a little money?

so should I get the cam gears???

 

i would get tuner stage 2 if you plan on running a thinner headgasket and flat faced valves like someone mentioned earlier to help bump the cr up. Otherwise just run the tuner series stage 1's. And on the stage 1's you dont have to upgrade your valvetrain, the stage 2s, you need upgraded valvetrain. And its good to get the cam gears because once you get cams, tuning will be a necessity and cam gears allow you to tune the timing and stuff.
