my friend said that civic eg comes stock with b16 motors... and i told him that they only come in d15. i told him that i didnt want to swap the motor and just use the stock as a everyday driving car. and becus i didnt want to deal with all the bullshit about getting sent to the referree. he said that the referree wont say anything about the b16 motor becus they come stock. is that true. and also does the DA come with b16 or b18?

No some of them came with the d15 the only EG that came with the d16 was the Si/EX

1. "EG6" is actually a chassis code for a Civic hatch offered in asia, europe, and basically everywhere EXCEPT for North America, and they did have the B16A in them.

2. North America/United States never got a B16A-equipped 1992-1995 Civic hatch, coupe, or 4 door. Closest thing was the 1994-1997 Del Sol VTEC with it's B16A3 (95-96) and B16A2 (96-97) engines.

if you mean the 92-95 usdm civics they came a 1.5 non-vtec sohc, a kinda rare 1.5 vtec sohc, and a 1.6 vtec sohc. the 1.6's were in all model ex's and si's the jdm and edm and im sure others had a b16a SIr2 dohc vtec. but not the usdm. the da cam with a b18c vtec and no vtec doch. and the type R dc's had the b18c5 dohc vtec.

B16A(1) - pre-OBD version commonly referred to as "first-gen" - weakest cam profiles of all B motors, 160hp

B16A3 - OBD1 version; USDM engine found in 94-95 Del Sol VTEC - 160hp

B16A2 - OBD2 version; USDM engine found in 96-97 Del Sol VTEC (don't argue with me on this!!!) and 99-00 Civic Si coupes

People also mislabel the second gen, 170hp version of the B16A "B16A2" when really they just mean second-gen from the 92-up civics overseas. They have higher CR at 10.4:1 rather than the others having 10.2:1CR
