Default Won't Start, Backfiring, After Distributor Install

After my 92 LS stalled, rarely started, Ran bad, I multimetered the coil, etc in the distributor, found out to be a bad coil. So i just decided to replace the whole distributor.
After I installed the distributor It won't start, When i turn the key I can hear the starter and it cranks but then it just backfires a few times..
I know backfiring is timing but what could this be?

EDIT: I had someone try and start it while i had the oil cap off and the cam was turning fine, i tried it with the cap off and the rotor was spinning.. so not sure what this could be?

Having the dizzy advanced or retarded would affect timing but not enough to keep the engine from running. Sure nothing besides dizzy is malfunctioning? If you totally replaced the dizzy, there isn't much you could mess up on the install, possibly something else?

Check your wire arrangement first. Probably out of order. Otherwise, you put the dizzy in wrong. Did it slide right in or did you have to work it in pretty hard? I had a friend manage to get his dizzy in with the tooth off 180degrees. Bent the center shaft when he tried to start it and it backfired like a ****.

if its backfiring its pretty obvious the wires arent on right or arent connected all the way.

double check the entire process... everyone makes mistakes just go look things over.

I'm having the same problem.

The car tries to start, seems to be half running on only two cylinders, then gives two big bangs so i turned the ignition off.

I checked the timing and plug wires, checked that the dizzy is timed up right with the cam and all seems 100%.

Any other ideas?
