im gonna be going to emissions soon and need to know if anyone has past emissions with a test pipe on??? sold my cat awhile back... and i dont wanna spend money on a dumb cat... but if i have too i guess i gotta then

Looks like you are buying a cat as a cat is what helps cut down emissions and a inspector will fail you flat out if he sees not cat

I think you can pass. You would have to really lean out the fuel. Last time I took my car for inspection it came out with "0" emissions. I lowered the fuel pressure and turned down the amount of fuel it used.

It should make for a more complete burn but not motor friendly so it's is just to make it pass.

Don't yell at me if it doesn't work for you though. I'm just saying it worked for me once. Now I just kinda get the sticker no questions asked. ssshhh

 

i passed here in ct BUT the nos or nox portion did not pass, thats the test they use to SEE IF you actually have a cat (or bad cat) couple yrs ago when they didnt test for that my car would have passed no problem.

 

I almost passed w/out a cat on my old car. It had a B16 w/a stroker kit, TypeR cams, intake mani, throttle body etc. The shop would pass me on the visual, but the car wouldn't pass by the numbers, he said it was extremely close, just a tad over the limit, so I went to Kragen and picked up a cheap cat for 50 bucks, threw it on and passed.

retard timing, set valves to loose end, change oil if needed, check spark plugs, check cap and rotor, check spark plug wires, dump in some "guaranteed to pass" fuel additive, and as a last resort... Two bottles of 90% rubbing alcohol. Good luck!
