Gradually break the engine in bro. Dont try to do everything so soon. Over a thousand is good but dont go hardcore on it. Gradually get in to it. Dont try to max the limits after a thousand right off the back. Little by little start to get on it.
Good Luck...

I took it real easy to about 500 miles, in between 500 and 600 i started taking it to around 5500-6k rpms..manual states break-in period is over at 600 miles. However still went easy until 1000 miles...gradually took it up about 1krpm every 150 miles. I have 1111 miles now and have redlined it maybe twice since going over 1000 miles. Gets crazy quick!

I kept it below 5000 rpms for about 1000 miles and then started to rev higher seems to be running really nice now. I drove a comparable model that was not broken in properly and it felt softer than mine. I've begun to redline it a couple times now, should be ready to accept it. I also changed the oil despite what the manual states, there was some decent amount of metal flakes in the oil so I think it was a good move, though the manual states to keep the first oil until the first change interval. These engines now use a harder cast iron cylinder liner, compared to the softer liners of the b-series, I don't know if that has any effect on the break in period, shorter or longer.
