Default H22a build

Hey guys, im lookin into building an h22a, i haven't decided if i want to go all motor, or NA. It has to be a h22a, not the type s. One combo i was thinkin was building my block with type s internals. Can i do this? If so what h22 parts should i replace with type s parts? or maybe i should just put high comp pistons, but i also was thinkin maybe using some n2o. If i used n2o what comp would be safe for a wet 60 or 75 shot? maybe future plans would be to build for boost. For now maybe just n2o. LMK and thanks for all the help guys!

read about how to build a motor before you blow something up.

take the time to read the faq section. There are many articles in there which will help you make your decision and will aid you in finding the parts that you need.

yes, you can use type S pistons. But you will likely need the oversized pistons which will require you having the block bored and honed by a machine shop that is competent with FRM cylinder wall material. You will need to have the pistons before you get this done so they can bore it to the correct piston to wall clearance.

sorry i meant fi instead of na ... i read some of the faq, but its all cluttered up. it makes it hard to find decent info ... i searched too! well i thought about maybe putting some h22a jdm pistons, which will set me at a 10.6:1 comp, and its also 20 hp/1 tq less than the type s, but ill use n2o to make up the difference. i want a fast car without n2o, and even faster with it.

So you want us to waste our time making recommendations on something you have no idea you want to do?

Stop talking then go jump off a cliff.

if you want to be fast NA, your going to have to do more than mild (stock) compression.

Andy is very right. Give us a goal that you are wanting to accomplish. Just saying you want to be fast tells us jack **** about what you want.

and the faq is not cluttered. It is broken up into individual groups (General, Engine, Boost, Hybrids, Drivetrain...etc). It is not hard to understand unless english is not your primary language.

stop posting. Come up with a set of realistic guidelines that you think you can accomplish and getting help will be alot easier.
