Hondata help
hey, can someone who is good with tuning make a quick Hondata map for me?
I have the S300, and what I want is a stock USDM ITR map, but pull some timing out of it.
I'm still having my pinging problem, and I can't for the life of me get it figured out. I'm actually to the point where I'm going to pull the motor, and swap for a different one, until I can get some better gas. Where I'm at now, we have 91 octane. I've been running octane booster with every tank, and still no luck. The stock ECU will throw a too rich code, but I can still hear the pinging.
the engine is too high compression for the gas. I know that HAS to be the problem. I've checked everything I could. Timing, fuel pump/filter, everything. So, I'm at my wits end. If someone could remap a stock ITR map with less timing, I'd appreciate it. I don't want to do it myself, cause I suck.

Huh? So you are running a 100% stock car with stock ecu, or 100% stock car with Hondata S300?
Also, have you tried dialing back timing via the distributor?
OEM ITR timing/tune is fine with 91. If not you would have heard everyone in the middle of the country complaining about it.

I got your PM R-Box, thanks. I'll hit you up later on.
And Todd00, it's not bone stock, but I have been running the stock ECU to try and take care of the pinging.
The engine is a JDM R swap (actually, a Spoon crate) and it has the Spoon headgasket, so the compression is a bit high. It's been running decent with the Chrome tuned P28 I have, but then I started to hear pinging, so I started replacing things. Also, since the the P28 doesn't check for a knock sensor, I plugged the stock USDM ecu back in. That is the one that throws the code.
Since I'm at a loss for what to do, I pulled my S300 out of my turbo civic, and I'm running that, because I can mess with the timing that way.
I also pulled all the plugs, and surprisingly, they don't look like they've been fried from detonation. I am soooo friggin' stumped. I pulled the VC, and checked that the timing hadn't skipped or anything, and it's still right on the money. The car is used to getting 93 octane, and now has had about 3 tanks of 91 with booster ran through it. It HAS GOT to be the fuel. I just don't know what else to check.
