civic suspension question?!
Okay, i just brought a 97 civic hatch, and the previous owner really didn't take care of the car (ride quality sucks due to shitty suspension), so i'm slowly redoing her, but for now I am broke. I also have a 95 Gsr shell, with the full suspension on it. I have done my research, and found out that the front suspension could fit without a problem, but the rear need to be modified?
I just wanted to get more information on this for those that done it, and what to do. If you have pictures that would be great! thanks in advance
Please help, Tired of how the car rides!!! Lol

What year is the GSR?
I would HIGHLY recomend doing bushings before the suspsension... I did the full ES bushing kit in my 93 civic before doing a suspension and realized that 95pct of the ride quality issues were due to worn out bushings...
It's obviously not free but I would recomend Eibach pro-kit springs and w'ever shocks if you want improved comfort and performance... the better the shock obviously the better the result... but the eibach pro-kit springs are FANTASTIC for a balance of performance and comfort due to their progressive spring rates.

it is a 95 gsr, Yeah i would get brushing, but since i have the gsr and no mney, I was like why not, it has brembo brakes, and better suspension, because it use to be daily driven and i have rode in it so that i asked this question.
A bushing kit would cost over $200, a decent shock/spring combo could cost about $500. Granted it could be the bushings, if the shocks are blown then the bushings won't do any help.

where are you buying bushings from? i paid $75 for a brand new complete ES bushing kit off of ebay. took my parts off myself, too them to a local shop and paid $80 to have all them pressed in, turned around and installed them in myself (pain to re-install with ES bushings, but well worth it).
actually, if the shocks are blown, and the bushings are shot, then replacing both would be recommended. they work together, you can't have one without the other.
bushings are the one thing many people overlook.

75 is a damn good price, cheapest I've seen from a distributor was around $150, and after having them pressed in would be over $200, they may give a discount if you buy from that shop. I wasn't saying they aren't worth it. I was merely saying that if the shocks were blown it would be more important to replace them first. I know how much the bushings help, I would love to slap on a master set, but I have no time
The front will work but you will probably need to take off the brake line bracket.
The rears will also work but the LCA mount is wider then an EK one so you will have to put washers between the gaps. If you dont quite understand then start swapping the suspension and when you do the rears you'lll figure it out.

that's cool. yeah i was lucky i guess. there were a couple auctions for a master set. i bid on a few, but was outbidded eventually. then there was a auction were i placed a bid. no one seemed to place any other bids after me, so i won. i guess it's safe to say it was meant for me.
one thing i learned about building my civic is patience. with patience, i have saved a nice amount of money, waiting for the right time and/or sale for parts. being in the right place at the right time.
