Default Boom! bottom of the car! rocks!

well as i was driving yesterday there was road construction and i was doing about 40mph. from a distance it look like a little bump so closer and closer i got, it turned out to be a ditch with big gravel tryed to break but wasnt enough time ( went over it about 15-20mph, and heard huge bang! from the rocks. anything i should worry about?

car is drop about a 1.5, rolling on 99-00 SI rims

atleast go take a look under it. see if your exhaust piping got messed up or if your suspension got damaged, like your control arms.

how are we supposed to know if you should worry about it?

take a look under the car, you could've dented your downpipe, maybe dented the underbody, bent an LCA, broke a fuel or brake line, kinked the fuel tank, there's so many things that could be affected by you running over a large rock.

Just take a look under your car. I consistantly rub my resonator on speedbumps, but it usually doesn't mess it up.

Hearing a huge bang is probably just your struts whacking your bump stops, or if you removed those, the bang would be your strut bottoming out entirely.

Make sure everything feels normal, no shaking or anything like turning to the right when you let go of the wheel. Most you probably did was mess up the alignment, and I really doubt that.

It wouldn't hurt to check it out rather than not worrying about it, better safe than sorry.

Jesus christ... you hit a rock, your car made a banging noise. You're asking us if it's anything to worry about...?

Is it just me, or is this common sense? Maybe take a look underneath? If you cant see anything, have a garage look at it.
