Default Brake Question, Pedal Feels Soft and Doesn't Hold Pressure Well... MC gone bad or bleed system?

I noticed I have a lot of depth travel for the pedal. I was freaking out when the pedal was near the floor. I notice sometime when I brake, I get a slight soft release of pressure and the pedal goes down a bit. I pumped my brakes when the car is off and it took more pumps than I expected for firmness. When I pressed down, it would give in a bit. Do I have air in the system or my MC going bad?

Check to see if there's any fluid around the MC on the firewall and near the brake pedal.

I think your MC is going out though.

Done any really heavy driving/braking lately? Possibility you've boiled the fluid.

Yes I've done some aggressive street driving.

I checked around my MC and its clean. I noticed the brake fluid reservoir is nearly min. The pedal travel is huge and freaks me out sometimes but it still brakes hard, enough to activate ABS. I know my rotors are worn very bad and the pads should be too.

When was the last time you put fluid in? It could be you worn your pads so much that most of your fluid is in your system and not in the reservoir. Probably not enough pressure in the lines due to low fluid level.

Check this out before you top off the brake fluid, if they need replacing replace them, and then top off the brake fluid, if it even needs it after the brake repair..

I havent touched the brakes in over a year.

Thanks for the info, I will replace them soon and let you guys know how it goes. Been to busy with exams, trying to find rear disc conversion, and stupid local parts store doesn't reply to my order.
