question about motor oil, thanx for anybody who reply
I just changed my engine oil , the mechanic used 5w30 on my accord 01 coupe ex 4cycle 2.3L. However, I found out the my fuel economy is getting bad after this oil change, Any one knew which oil should my accord should use? 5w20?
thanx~
thanx~
i am almost positive that it should be using 5w20, i dont own an 01 accord, but i believe honda switched to 20w oil in like 00 on the accords.
and if you are seeing worse fuel economy, this is a very likely cause. i would bring it back and have them change it to the proper oil. if not completely for free, they shoudl at the very least change it for the price of materials.

tell them to change it again anyways.
and your car only has 10k on it or did you mean 100k? if you have 100k it might be time for a routine tune up for your ignition system.

spark plugs, cap, rotor, distubutor MAYBE your coil if its shot, wires..
not that this is really related, but do you know if the timing belt was ever replaced? if not you should look into it, if it snaps it will mostlikely destroy your engine.

Was there a TSB or something on this? My '99 I4 says to use 5w30 which is what I've always used.

Do you have NAPA? They usually have decent/comparable to OEM stuff. Get some Belkin spark plug wires, lifetime warranty
Sounds like you might consider taking your car someplace else to be worked on as well.
