Default Just bought a DC JDM 4-1 Header - now what

I'm going to hook it up to my stock R, and I'm going to keep the stock cat-back exhaust, for now, though later I may replace it.

So from searching, it sounds like I need to get either a 2.5" Carsound cat with a 2.5 to 2.25 flange to connect to my stock exhaust, or I get a modified 2.5" Carsound cat from someone, like uh, SMSP was it? OR... get a test pipe. I'm not going to get a test pipe I don't think, it's still illegal for street driving even if your state doesn't do emission inspections, correct?

Thanks all

Carsound 94066. that's all you need. You will also need some hardware.

(2) 5/16 x 3.5 w/ 2 washers to stop the springs
(3) 3/8 x 1.25
and necessary n_uts

why won't it let me say.. N_U_T_S!?

Yes there is a DC JDM 4-1 ceramic coated header. Check the link http://inlinefour.com/dcsporjdm41h.html. Talk to SMPS about the cat. Comes with everything you need to install and he does some extra spotwelds so the heatshield wont come off.

i have also run into the same problem... but im also getting a high flow cat and an apex'i world sport exhuast.

is there a difference between the length of the GSR and TYPE R exhuast??? which one is longer?? i have no idea wether to get the GSR or TYPE R application for the apex world sport exhaust. i dont want the muffler shop to modify the exhuast b/c its too long.. or its too short..

if you people had the JDM DC 4-1, and gettin a high flow cat... what apex'i world sport would u get?? type r or gsr?

btw.. i have a 1994 GSR 2Dr.

No emissions = test pipe or version of Kens cut out so you can run open header.

There is a JDM DC 4-1 header made in ceramic. Personally i think you should of spent the little extra to get SS. The quality on the SS JDM DC 4-1 is outstanding. Flanges and welds look as good as the other top tuner headers for less than half the price. Don't know how much you paid, but the SS DC 4-1 i usually sell for $360, so i hope you didnt pay more than 320 for yours.

BTW enjoy, its a great performance gain for the $$$. Well for headers anyways.

I know that the Type-R B-pipe is shorter than the GSR. My brother had to have his type-R exhaust modifided when he put it on GSR.
