How do I remove the 02 sensor?
you can buy a special Snap-On socket fitting that is slotted for the wires....or just use a wrench.
Basically first you disconnect the sensor from the wiring. There is a plastic snap type thing that you unhook it from. Drop the header and then unscrew the sensor once it's away from the car.

yeah and to make things easier try to get some PB or similar rust penetration fluid (I like PB a lot!) and soak it. WD40 doesn't really do what PB can.
What kind of thing do I need? I have the header off the car and I have no socket that will fit over it because the plastic connector is holding it down. The one on the cat seems very difficult also.
I think its called and O2 sensor socket or something. I read somewhere that its a pain if you try and go at it with a wrench...Go to the store they allways know what I am talking about when I am looking for a part.
<---walks into store, "I'm looking for that thing-a-magiggie(various hand motions here) that turns that other thing?"
Salesman-"oh thats in 4 on the right side"

Unplug the sensor, take the cat off the car, put the cat on a vise or something similar, twist that sensor off with an open wrench or monkey wrench.
I already have the header off the car. The 02 sensor is stuck on there. I will try a vise grip sunday and see if that works. Where do you grab it?
At the bottom where the hex is. for the vise, I'm talking about one that attaches to a table or bench...so the header/cat is stationary while you wrench on the O2.
Or you can just get a friend to hold it while you twist that **** off.
so you removed the cat O2 without any problems?

yeah it's a hex head. just take a wrench and twist it off. BTW, if you are installing a carsound, i hope you took that off first, because the cat-bolts to the b-pipe are one (*%&$ to take off. with the header still on the block, you can prob get the required torque needed to get those bolts off, if not, TAKE OFF your b-pipe and torque those suckers off. it'll save you lotsa time.
good luck with the header install, i just installed my JDM 4-1 on tuesday.
EDIT: bah, you beat me to it already B2.
installing your Type One header right? give us a review when you're finished

Thanks man. My car is out of comission right now until I can get this done. I plan on dropping the b-pipe with the cat because the bolts are just WAY too tight. Here's what I have done so far:
1) header off the car
2) 1 bolt off the cat
3) both 02 sensors still on
4) guys on h-t are great

Allan wrench? You mean open ended wrench?
My biggest allen wrench goes up to 17mm, do I need something bigger? I believe thats the size...not sure though.
adjustable wrench + hammer =
using l00b will make the wrench slip... so wipe the sensor off before you try to remove it.
Make sure the wrench is on tight and tap the wrench with the hammer untill she comes out.
use antizeeze when putting the sensor into another header.
the sensor is VERY expensive so use caution

Yep... soak it with some good penatrating oil, then get yourself one of these:
I don't like using a hammer, just cause I don't like to put too much impact on the sensor... they aren't the most robust of pieces...
Oil + Proper Socket + 1/2" ratchet + cheater bar = removed O2 Sensor...
