I searched around here and no answer. I was wondering if I would still need the MSD 6 and coil w/ the AEM EMS. Don't own an EMS yet but would like to know in advance.

 

You dont ever "need" an MSD ignition and coil...stock Honda ignitions work well even in the high HP turbo car applications. Even in those apps, when its time to upgrade, i wouldnt bother with MSD, i'd get a T1 Cam trigger and COP setup

Why are you running AEM?

 

i'm a noob...what's a "t1 cam trigger"....I already have the msd ignition and coil. And my plan is to get the EMS within a month. The true question is "Will the EMS be sufficient with or without the MSDs?"

the T1 cam trigger is a very accurate way of eliminating the stock distributor and running a COP setup

WHY are you running AEM? Are you boosting it or building an NA setup? Generally people dont buy a $1000 EMS for no reason...

 

NA no boost...bottom end fully built. I just need to work on the head...
