Default shift link problem need help please

Alright I just finished putting a new clutch in. I went to connect the shifter to the shift link I put the o rings on and lined up the holes. When I put the bolt in it wouldn't go all the way through here's the problem, I noticed one of the tabs is bent. What's the best way to straighten that back? Now the exhaust is in the way because the damn thing doesn't want to come off. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks in advanced.
