Default 90 Integra (LSVTEC Converted to OBD1) Boggs after vtec hits

Okay so last night me and my friend decided to convert his OBD0 Integra LSVTEC into OBD1 using the Pigtail conversion..We did exactly what the manual says, hooked it all up and started the car, it started fine and there was no check engine light ,so we took it out for a test run.... runs good from 2-5.5K, but when vtec hits after 5.5k or so, the car boggs and rpm goes really slow... almost like a CX motor..WTF??? I was kind of leaning towards the distributor because it was just a piece together distributor... any thoughts on this??? Need it running because we are heading to BOTI in FAMOSO, CA.... lmk

btw this is what the engines got.

95 GSR head stock
Stock OBD0 LS injectors
Stock GSR manifold (we took out the Secondary Butterfly)
stock GSR TB
Stock cams
stock header

LS block
p30's .25 Over
LS rods
ARP rod bolts
Vtec oil/water pump

Engine management:
OBD1 P28 Chipped ECU

ok we changed the distributor to a new one and it does not bogg or back fires anymore, but theres another problem, it has no power at all from 2000 rpm all the way to 8000 rpm.... feels slower than a weak *** single cam CX motor... rpm climbs very very slow.....

really depends on the map you run on your ecu, try a different chip or borrow a different ecu and see if you can see the difference

Sounds like the cam timing is off. Put the cams and the crank all at TDC. (marks lined up)

I bet the timing is off on one of your cam gears..
