Default obd1>obd2 and obd2>obd1 dizzy adapter harness

I was lookin for some other stoof and came across this. Its an adapter pigtail to go from an obd2 harness to an obd1 distributor or they make one to go the other way around.

Maybe its nothing new but I seem to see the issue come up every now and then. Sorry if its old news but it seems like it would be very usefule for alot of peeps.

That thing is for civics and integras only. Our obd2 distributors have a different connector.

Yeah, they're idiots. I would have bought that thing long ago if it was a prelude one.

somebody should really market an obd2->1 adapter kit. bc I'm thinkin the one I fabbed at age 16 is whats making my car suck ***** right now.

i would have bought it too. instead i had to rewire. It's not really hard to rewire it when you go off of poison's obd2>obd1 dizzy conversion chart, but it would be nice to have one to plug and play so you wouldn't have to hack into your harness any. I was thinking about making one, but the problem is that those electrical plugs are only sold in lots of thousands, so it wouldn't be very cost efficient unless thousands could be sold (which we all know they can't).

just as a note, i wrapped the CKP and TDC positive wires in tin foil coming from the stock location at the oil pump all the way to the obd1 dizzy. Then a layer of electrical tape. I heard from someone that that would serve as a good substitute for the factory sheath that covers those wires. I'm assuming it blocks interferences so that the message the wires are sending would not be interupted.

^^ That's on a 5th gen of course.

yeah that would work as long as you hooked the ecu end of it to a ground. you can buy that wire too from mcmaster-carr. its just called shielded wire.

well, i looked for some locally, and couldn't find any.....i wasn't going to wait to order some and wait for it to come in to get the car running, so i just did the foil thing instead......but this is good to know for the future.
