I am getting piping put on for my 99 accord ex, i need some opinions on how many inches to go, the guy at the muffler shop said to get 2 3/4 but i think thats too small for a v6. Any suggestions are appreciated thanks

what exactly are you planning on doing mod wise?

Stock engine that is an improvement over the stock piping. I wouldn't go larger than 3".

I'll be doing 3" on my H22 swap but there's power to be gained from there.

Probably your best bet is to hit up the guys with that specific model.

I'm speaking just out of assumptions.

h22 NA with 3'' piping... doesn't make sense, still a 4cy.... not a subaru or supra with crazy turbo...
2 1/2 is pretty good for a 4cy, plenty of flow there. On the v6, 2 3/4 sounds good enough if the car will remain NA.

Oh trust me, there's plans for my car

That piping won't be until next year with some other nice little mods

glad you listened to me muff man I base the 3'' for h22 on pure dyno proven fact

tp gianline I have to go get copies of my dyno sheets but I will have a 2 1/2 vs. 3'' H22 thread very soon.

To the op...I'd go 3 with that big of a motor just my 2 cents

Your V6 is not that much bigger in CC's than an F22 or H22. It's only approx. 1/2 a liter or 500cc's bigger. In mass and overall engine bay size it's bigger but that's about it. A 2 3/4 pipe would be more than big enough for your car. But I agree with CD5 Jeebies and you might as well go 3" while you have someone doing it.

Just another comparison here. My 78 Camaro 5.7L was stock with a single 2.5" pipe to the cat and it ran fine. It did run better with dual cats and 3" pipes though.
