Default darton sleeves 84 Cp pistons 84???

I bought the darton mid sleeves 84mm and i have cp pistons 84mm?
but when i try put the pistons in it wouldnt go down?
when i take the both piston and sleeve to the mechanic shop he told me the sleeve need more 1/4mm to be 84 and its not polishing he told me thats sleeves look wierd and rough u should polish it.

u should look at the picuter and let me know what u think and what i have to do???

It'll work better if you put the sleeves into the block before installing the pistons. After they put the sleeves in, they'll bore and hone it to the size of the pistons. Just because you bought "84mm sleeves" doesn't mean they'll fit just the way they are. They leave room for you to bore and hone it so that they don't have customers saying "my piston/wall clearance is way off"

I think you should send the whole thing to a competent machine shop along with a credit card.

Stealthmode is correct...

The sleeves are supplied semi-finished. Once the sleeves are installed the need to be bored and honed to the specifications of the piston you are using.

Let me know what area you are in and I can recommend a shop that can help you properly.

just leave the credit card at home, and give them a call.

sorry for this question i guess u see it stupid question but what can i say always there first time for everything and its my first time using darton sleeves.

well i remamber u i was talk to u in other thread about darton sleeves.

actually u cant help me with some shops here becuase im from kuwait.

i know im doing something u see it crazy but it could be??
i want put the b18 sleeves in b20 block
the question is
if we can use the darton sleeves on b18 (and the b18 same degree in b20)
why we cant use it on b20?
i know some ppl can do it and i know u cant do it? is that mean u wouldnt doing it?
or u cant do it?

i hope u can understand my second languege..

it was my understanding direct from darton that the block casting between the b18 and b20 is different down by the bottom of the oem sleeves.

technically the b18 MID sleeves do "fit" the b20 but there is a greater chance of the sleeves leaking coolant into the oil. some special attention/machine work is required to make them work properly. but even still there is no guarantee you will have no issues.

i am currently running darton B18 MID sleeves in my B20 and i do have coolant leaking into the oil. it's been an ongoing issue from day one (almost 3 years ago) i have to change my oil every month to keep it clean. i will be swapping out the block in the spring time for a golden eagle sleeved block.

i suggest you find a B18 block and put those sleeves in.......and also i HIGHLY suggest you find a good machinist who understands what is involved in installing the MID's and that they have the proper equipment to do so.

The b20 casting is more thin than the LS blocks at the bottom. Esp. between bores.

from what I understand all company's sleeves comes smaller than the bore they advertized as, I bought a Golden eagle 84mm block and had to pay an extra $150 to 84mm

It shouldn't have been $150 bucks to bore/hone to 84mm, but that's not the point.

I said by the proper sleeves for his application in the context of trying to use B18 sleeves in a B20.

The B20 block iron sleeves for all four cylinders are cast together as one piece not individually as on all other B series Honda blocks.

On the B16 and B18 blocks, the cast in iron sleeves completely machine away leaving a nice smooth surface for installation of the Darton MID liner and the sealing orings which keep coolant from leaking into the crankcase. The B20 does not clean up at the required diameter, instead leaving a very rough surface that the orings can not seal against.

I tried several different methods of sealing the sleeves to the block. They seal sufficiently for a drag race only application but I would steer clear of doing a B20 MID installation on a daily driver. The B18 MID is a very sound piece in comparison.

You are going to have a problem finding a shop in Kuwait to do the installation regardless. Your best bet is to find a good B18 block and ship both block and sleeves to Darton for installation. Shipping is not all that expensive. A lot less expensive than getting your block ruined.
