spark plug question for boost
Well as im aware of the best air/fuel ratio for an allmotor car is 14.6/1..now that im boosted and running like 12.3/1 a/f up top of my rpms do you think my spark plugs are going to get flooded? What spark plugs do you guys recommend for a boosted b16 runnin 6 lbs on a 57 trim. Will be running around 15 lbs in a few months..so keep that it mind with the plugs.
thanks guys
thanks guys
low boost, 1 step colder (if u are running 5's, go to 6's)
anything above 14-15 you gotta start watching your plugs/gap to see if it needs to go a step colder.
I am running low boost on a stock D15B, with the stock plugs (ZFR6J-11) and have had no detonation issues yet; but I have been babying the car most of the time.
When u are running more boost, it will be hotter at the plug, thus you need em colder than the OEM requirement; you don't need to worry about gumming up a higher heat range plug, you worry about it with lower heat range plugs
