Default sc61 oil pressure

with my new build on the first start up my oil pressure to the turbo was at 80psi after the restrictor? is that to much? should i get a new restrictor? or is my gauge screwed up? its an autometer mechanical gauge. thanks

Do SC61s generally like a restrictor, or not?

Thanks!

-3 no restricor here... 80 when cold, 15 when warm at idle.

No problems at all

Excellent, thanks!

Hey, while I've got you, how about a couple of follow-up questions?:

1) Is that oil feed hole on the SC61 a 1/8" NPT hole?

2) All of the 1 foot long oil feed lines I see are -4. Where is a good place to get a -3 line?

Thanks again!

I just don't have the time anymore to go through a whole symposium like I used to. In your case, If this is indeed a Honda block that you're running, NO an oil restrictor is not necessary for a -3AN line that comes from the oil sender to the turbo itself. the pressure at the line would be about 30psi or so consistently. It will be a different pressure reading at the block itself, then at the end of the feed line. I believe that the SC61 with the p-trim wheel (6169?) uses a 1/4NPT fitting, so you should be pretty good.</TD></TR></TABLE>

What TheShodan has to say about using restrictors with an sc61, id take his word

except that the feed fitting is 1/8 NPT, Not 1/4.
