Default D16 Y8 '98 Civic EX in need

I've been searching for a D16 Y8. All i can find is the JDM version (d15B) with dual Vtec. I was wondering if that is sufficient. I would really just like the Usdm version. If anybody has one or knows where i could get one.

I just picked up this car with a blown motor.

The D15B is not the JDM version of the D16Y8.

Post a WTB thread in the Honda-Tech MarketPlace. You might be able to find one on eBay too. Or maybe Craigslist.

I've looked on ebay for these motors. They say that the jdm version is the the d15B replacement for the y8. But they say they have dual vtec which i've never heard of. Do you know any other sites that have a D16y8.

I've already checked craigs list. Thanks alot.

eBay is a poor resource for information.

Yes, there are SOHC VTEC D15Bs from Japan. Yes, the D16Y8 is also a SOHC VTEC, but they are not different versions of the same engine. They're both D-series (SOHC), but one is a 1.5L and one is a 1.6L. I'm not too into the D15Bs, but I know at least some have three stage VTEC, where the Y8 has VTEC-II.

Here's what I can tell you abotu each motor. Remember that there are several different types of D15Bs.
