broken bolt help
well i bought an 88 civic hatch with some front end damage and im switching most of the front over from my other 90 hx hatch. well lets just say some bolts werent in the best of shape and broke off in the nuts that are welded on in the frames. anyone know how to get the broken bolts out short of drilling and retaping if thats possible? o and does anyone know if you can go to a honda dealership and buy new bolts and washers to replace all the old ones? thanks
You can drill into the bolt. Screw a screw in there and carefully back the bolt out with a drill gun and WD40. I had to do a couple of bolts that way. I think honda still sells some bolts and washers but I know the wholesale places online do. Make a google search for "OEM Honda parts.
PS: There's not such thing as a 88-91 Civic HX

Use an easy out.
If it stick out enough try to vice grip it.
If not weld a socket or a nut to it.
Soak the expletive out of it with some lube.
Put some loc tite on the new bolts.
