Default 2nd Gen JDM B16 timing belt question

ok, now im having problems with my timing belt. I got a 99-00 si belt from honda and it seems not to match up, and keep skipping a tooth when applied. I set the motor at top dead center, and line the cam gears up with the head and when the motor is fully warmed up it just dies. Is there any other belt (beside the del sol b16a3 belt which changes over to be the same one as the 99-00) that would fit. I really need my car and this problem has been killin me.

I'm assuming you've replaced the tensioner pulley, spring, etc. and done the procedure correctly, right?

They are the same. You are doing something incorrect.

Did you follow something similar to this procedure?

I followed every step mentioned in that write up. The only thing i didnt do was replace the tensioner or water pump. But the motor was fine before the change. Also, when tightening the timing belt by turning the crank 1/8 counterclockwise and allowing the tensioner to set, does the motor need to be lined up correctly? (at top dead center and cam gears lined up to the deck?)

Not necessarily, but the crank should be in the proper position relative to the cams.
