Windshield Polishing
after 10 years on the car the windshield needs a good polishing/buffing......
the windshield has no cracks/nicks or rock chips.....
however, it does have minor/moderate scratches where the wiper blades have rotated for the past 10 years.....
has anyone ever had their windshield polished/buffed to remove these scratches?
does it work?
and what did you pay to have it done?
if the windshield had a crack/nicks/ or chips I would just have it replaced.....
thank you for your time

I look at the autopia.org detailing forums every now and then. A company called Eastwood makes a polish for glass that is lightly scratched.

Cam - I've been thinking about getting the Eastwood Kit for the hatch glass. Let me try it on there first. If it doesn't work or I screw it up I'll just end up replacing it anyway.
I am still nervous of this kind of job since I also have an annoying scratch made by wiper blades. People tells me if it is not polish right, glass can be distorted.
This is the only service place I found that willing to do such a job for dealers and public. http://www.windshieldwizard.com/home.html

i've tried the novus polishing service, it didn't really make the scratches disappear. they used a machine, so if that didn't make it go away, i doubt if any home diy kit will be effective
Never even heard of such an animal.
Cameron, just come up here and run laps on 40 - follow the gravel trucks from Harrison Ave until you catch a rock to the windshield

it works, but practice on the pass side corner first.. If your fingernail can get in the scrathes then it might be time for a new glass.
Lots of time and work in small areas.
if you are doing the whole glass then give yourself the weekend to do it.
I've been waiting forever for my glass to crack. This stock glass must be tough. I have so many pits in my 10 year old windshield that it sucks to drive into direct sunlight. Can't see ****.
