Dashlights are out! Any ideas?
Hoping someone might have had a similar experience and could shed some "light" on the subject. The dashlights and environmental control lights have never worked since I've owned the car. The last owner said that they would occasionaly turn off, and after whacking the dash they would flip back on. Well, now they never work. I tore apart the dash and checked the connections and all the bulbs. They seem to be good to go. Anyone have any ideas/test I could try? I still need to bust out the mutimeter, but what wires/relays should I check? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

already checked the fuses and checked the bulbs. they are all good. the lights that are not working are the cluster illumination and the climate control backlighting. all the other warning/turn signal/indicator/etc lights work in the cluster, its just the backlighting...i cant see my tach/speedo at night.
its the dimmer switch, its fairly common...just go to a scrapyard or dealership and purchase a new one. I have the same problem, but taping the dwitch still works for me.
