Default wetsanding question

sorry newb pAINTER HERE I thought i would just go ahead and try my first paint job do you wetsand after you lay down the clear coat??? you don't wetsand the basecoat or anything im tryn to find this out asap thanks

You don't wet sand the base unless you have inperfections in it. you wetsand the clear, remove orange peel and things like that...then you buff it.

If you ran your base coat, that means you are putting way too much on, not moving the gun fast enough, way too close to the panel, air pressure is too high, or a combonation of all the above. Base coat is supposed to be applied as a "medium" coat, you don't want it dry, you don't want it wet, and you don't want to achieve coverage in 1 coat.

And yes, you will have to sand that down, and re-base before clearing.
