Negative side of the coil or the blue wire behind your gauge cluster.

there should be a blue wire with a cap on it on the other side of the bay next to the resevoirs. If I remember correctly it was blue/ white. Don't qoute me on the colors, I just know theres a wire over there for a tach signal thats capped off.

So from this picture, does that blue wire with the silver dots make it this far to the distributor, or do I need to take out the cluster panel and wire it from directly back there? I am not quite sure how to wire this exactly corrct. I would think that the wire would make it to the distributor. I was told the blue one but dont think they wer right cuz they were iffy about it also.

It will be easier if you tapped the blue wire behind the gauge cluster because you won't have to run the wire through the firewall.

there is a tach signal test wire near the firewall on the drivers side of the car. it is a capped two prong harness with one blue wire. it was only put there for use by service techs and goes nowhere. imo the best place if you dont want to cut into IMPORTANT engine or cluster harnesses. i wouldnt cut any unnecessary wires if i didnt have to. the plug in taling about it near the brake master cylinder to narrow it down. im sure some one has a pick of this.
