shouldn't have asked.. everyones gonna say bad ringlands. How much smoke? A little is normal. Mine's steamed a little ever since i installed it 2 years ago, about 20 dyno pulls, 10 track days, 14psi of daily beatings later, yea it must be my broken yet invincible ringlands.

u'll be fine if your really concerned do a leakdown test.

mine just smokes under wot pulls. Compression checks in at 190 across the board on the built motor. Not quite sure what that means though.

when my rod snapped and cracked/punctured my block i poped my hood and there was thick white lingering smoke coming from the crank vent system. the motor also had 1 piston with 130 compression that had bad rings...

When my valve cover breather was pushing a little smoke out of it, it was after a hard run and the wastegate line worked itself loose... causing a pretty bad boost spike. Ended up being a blown headgasket... mine was more sweet smelling steam though than it was smoke. It was also obvious that they headgasket was a problem cause my car sounded like a subby.

I have noticed that on a cars with vented crankcases or catch cans a little puff of steam right after a cold startup is nothing more than condensation... thats about the only other time I see a bit of vapor come from the breather, that it has not been something more serious or bad.

My Evo used to do that, it's normal, it's not smoke but condensation. If it's not steaming hot, get close to it and smell it, it's just steam...
