Default Turbo on stock internals? ( My cars apart already, bad planning )

THE BACKGROUND:
I have a 2001 S2k with 124,000 miles, i'm getting the head rebuilt with Supertech springs retainers and Honda valves. Im also getting a port and polish and 3 angle valve job. I just got a compression test done and it was 197psi, 200psi, 185psi, 190psi , so im not sure about the bottom end.

MY PROBLEM:
With differential problems set aside, is it fine to turbo on stock internals? I was thinking about 6-7psi of boost. I drive this car to work everyday but not far at all. I'm not a really aggressive driver, but sometimes ill play on the freeway. It looks like most go Turbo.
Please Help!!

you're very much in the clear with 6-7lbs of boost. go with a quick spooling turbo though.

Port and polish job not necessary btw.

You'll be fine. I'm currently running around 15psi on a daily driver with stock internals, only addition was a 3mm head-gasket. And I'm a pretty aggressive driver.

3mm headgasket....
change out the oil/water pumps since the head is off... and boost away...
no need to port/polish the head its flows TONS from the factory...
block is forged as well already..

Don't forget a proper engine management system and someone 'competent' that can tune it.

If 6-7 psi is too safe, what should I be looking at? 10?

It's not a matter of what psi is safe, it's a matter of how much power you personally want and the tuning. Tuning is key to all boosted projects.

why wouldn't you want to be safe? sacrifice reliability for big power and all this time and money you are spending will be a waste...especially for a daily vehicle

it's all in the tune.....
