Default Need help with O2 sensor!!!

The scoop on the car is that it has an OBD1 B18 along with an OBD1 P28 ECU chipped with Hondata S100 and still using an OBD2 engine harness into an OBD1 conversion harness plugged into the ECU. Its a '96 Civic DX

CEL light has been on since I got the car. Checked the Code and I get Code 41 Heated oxygen sensor heater. So I swapped out the sensor for a Universal Bosch sensor. Wired it up with the original O2 plug on the end and plugged it up and I still have the code. Reset the ECU and still CEL is still lit.

Did I wire the sensor wrong? The sensor has 4 wires. 2 black, 1 gray, and 1 white. So off the OEM plug I wired the 2 white from the OEM plug together with the 2 black from the sensor. Then the green from the OEM plug I wired with the gray from the sensor and the white from the OEM plug I wired with the black from the sensor.

Could it be that the sensor is not being heated up properly since it is so far from the exhaust ports? The sensor is installed at the end of a DC 4-2-1 Race Header.

Or is it that Bosch sensors are just junk?

Please help, this is giving me a headache and some ugly scars.
