Default ECU CODE 43 TROUBLE HELP!!!!! OBO 0

I got a 91 crx si with a dohc zc swap in it and at times my car would run fine but then if im taking it pass 4000 rpm in a low gear it starts to jump back and forth as if i'm taking my foot on and off the gas. ECU is throwing code 43 out i'm also running obd 0 ls ecu but it did that with my stock si ecu also. Help breaks up and sputters when i take it up in high rpm.

how new/old is your fuel filter? you might replace it, if its not new.

I am having the same problem, but with my 89 GSR crx. my fuel filter is new. to me, it seems that it could be a fuel pump issue, but my theroy is my ECU may be the issue...i am trying to find another GSR so I may try theirs out to see if mine is bad. if not...then i will attack my fuel pump.

when my check light comes on, the car runs beautiful. (to an extent) the trick is, figure out a way to trick my ecu to think there is a problem...

any help?

Code 43 sets when the ECU cannot correct for the excessive lack of or excessive amount of fuel (way too rich or way too lean). That is probably because you are running an LS ecu on a DOHC ZC motor. The motor is probably getting way too much fuel. I have two stock PG7 (1989 USDM Integra) ecu's. I can put one in a civic (PM6) ecu case and sell it to you if you want. That should take care of your problem. Looking to get $80 for the stock PG7 ECU in the PM6 case (that way it will plug in and bolt right up to your car).

Tomdata, would this apply to me as well, cause i might need that ecu if thats the case.

anyhow, why would my car work from march to 2 months ago...why all of a sudden would this act up? that "The motor is probably getting way too much fuel" sounds spot on because any time I get out of the car after my car acts gay, it smells like fuel.

do you believe its my ecu and not a fuel pump issue?

not sure your exact situation, but I do know that the OBD0 ecu's do not like it when they cannot trim the mixture using the O2 sensor because the program is way off.

well i'll get the zc ecu cuz i know someone that has one. i'll let you know if it works. but it was doing this with my si ecu also. i'll change all fuel components and ecu to stock zc and see if it works well

Just look at your spark plugs. That will tell you wether you are lean or rich.

just get the ecu that belongs to that motor otherwise you will have problems cause they are set and made for a specific motor

I agree with this also. A faulty O2 sensor could cause code43 to set.. However a faulty O2 sensor should not cause the driveability problems you are experiencing.
