Default Turbo choice..Will the trim really affect sppol that much?

hey guys.im pieceing together a turbo kit.doing it right with good quality products(ex:sls manifold )as for the turbo im going to use a garrett t3/t4 series.this will be going on a stock gsr.

My choices are either a 50 trim or 57 trim with .63ar.im just wondering how much of a diffrence spool time will be.if anyone can chime in on what they use that would be greatly appriciated.i just figure id ask h-t masters before i buy anything big

PS:I tried to search but couldnt get an exact answer.but feel free to falme if u must, thanks

What are you power goals. If your concerned about spool time, find a the smallest turbo and trim that meets your goals.

this guy right here gets nice deals... can get anything you want almost.. at a good price.
these are the garrett turbos', he has borg turbo's for cheaper same sizes...

as far as spool time if you want fast spool , go with the .48 exhaust housing, just get the 57 trim with the smaller exhaust housing. check my sig. two different stock gsr set ups i made 300-320whp with a .48 exhaust housing... had plenty of people tell me i coudln't do it... lol

People see the typical 57trim/.63 stg3 exhaust turbo @10psi and somehow think the .48ar exhaust is tighter than a virgin *****.

There's a difference between never seeing it done, and it being impossible. Bandwagoneers that can only recite numbers and not put give you calculations HOW it won't work. Nothing is cooler than maxing your motor out with a turbo thats just barely starting to work hard, all of HT knows that.

Get a 57trim with a .48 wheel and a 2.5 or 3bar MAP sensor. If its a street car, you'll be happy. 15-20psi on pumpgas will give you more than enough power, but the .48ar will help it spool early and quick.
