I'm looking to get a Honda Civic EG
I'm looking to get an EG, it will be my first project car. Is there a simple way to get it up to about 400hp? When I get it I'm going to swap the engine for a V-tech one and I also want to know should I get a 6 cylinder or 4 cylinder?
400 whp is way too much power for your 1st project car. In addition, you'll only be looking at 4 cylinder engines. You have a lot of research ahead of you. Browse honda-tech for a lot of good info.
Looks at the 1st few threads in this section and the Forced Induction section. Do you know what Forced Induction is?

You are just learning, I can tell. The EG Civic is a perfect platform to start learnig about cars and mods. I can also tell that you are most interested in performace, so don't waste money trying to make your car look good. Search the net for info on these VTEC engines: Gen. 2 B16A, B18C or B18C1. Making a 4-cylinder engine produce 400hp is a big deal, there is no simple way to do it at your current experience level. Do a lot of research and learning, the 'net is made for that. Also, forget the V6 engine.

The "simple" way to make 400whp with a Civic is with a big turbocharger, but "simple" is not the right word at all.
Also, keep in mind that 400whp is a LOT of power for a 92-95 Civic... it's theoretically enough power to run 9's in the 1/4 mile...
What kind of budget do you have? You will not make anywhere near 400whp without a decent amount of money. Furthermore, if you do manage to produce 400whp, you won't be able to control it without a lot more money.
