Default B20

heard about a b20 head called ... p8r head it suppossable has vtec values and i was wondering if there's anything like that or should i go kick someone ???

The CRV also came with either the P8R head or P75 head in it's 96-98 model years. The P8R head is a completely different casting than P75 heads which were used on all other B20's. This head came with 84mm combustion chambers and 33mm vtec sized intake valves.

i dont think is a benefit between b20b vs b18b, unless you have the b20z. i think both block are good, but the b18b will have the slight upper hand due to revs.

b20b - redline 6200
b18b - redline 7100/7200 (please correct me if i am wrong)

so at this point...i would get what ever is cheaper

dO you even know what that requires? It's often more trouble and $$$$ than what's it worth.

or you could go to the all motor forum and read "how to build a reliable lsvtec"
which is very detailed and almost guarenteed to stay together. But its up to you.

Im not sure if this is true, but i heard the b20 swap was more if you plan on boosting it. My friend has a fully built b20 swap in his em1 and my type s eats it up by a couple cars.

this is incorrect. the b20b does have a low compression (8.8) which any turbo kit setup would love, but the cylinder walls are prone to crack under stock boost (from what i read on H-T over a short time frame). i have not seen the inside of my b20 block yet, but it has a cast iron - 1 piece design sleeve, so it tend to crack under pressure and Heavy road course driving.
