Default distributor oil leak

My EJ1 is a LS swap in it. When i got the car the guy said the 'o' ring on the distributor shaft was shot so it leaks a little bit of oil. It doesnt leak much - maybe a quart every few months or so. Has anyone ever heard of this or do you think it would be the distributor cap gasket?

#7 in the diagram. Part Number : 30110-PA1-732

Should only cost about a buck or two. Very simple to install.

plus:when you install it dont use a screwdriver, it will go on with your hands

put some oil on the o-ring so it dont get damaged at install.

I had one come in my full gasket kit. Easy to install once lubed and you can find them at the dealership of course.

Use a flat blade screwdriver and index the distributor to the engine by making a scratch mark straight across the top so you know how to index the distributor. Remove 3 bolts, remove the plug wires and keep track of what goes where, and wiggle it off. Remove the old o-ring, install the new one, use some grease or oil to lubricate the o-ring. Make sure the tangs on the distributor match the camshaft. Install it and index it. Tighten the 3 bolts, install the plug wires, and you are good to go
