The following ECU/ECM comes with the following VXs (49-state):

I have a 93 VX. I was wondering if the 94-95 ECU/ECM (37820-P07-A01) will work
on a 93 car?

it will...
just make sure its not the 4wire california version
unless your car IS the 4wire california version
i forget the label difference for the california version...if there is one...

My car is the four wire version, but I'm converting it over to a fed vx so I can get better mileage. Yeah, i know... why...

I already have some fast cars.. I want to get 60mpg!!!
I just got 54.8MPG on my California Civic VX (mostly due to drafting).
With the VX ECU, my engine can go into lean burn mode with the
appropriate O2 five wire sensor.

Well have fun buying a $450 O2 sensor. Honestly that isnt worth it. I had too many trouble with mine i had.

 

what do you mean you had too much problems with yours? Your O2 sensor or your CA VX conversion to FED VX?

the A01 and A00 are swapable. No worries there.
As far as the O2 sensor.. the L1H1 is avable for $125-150 if you search for it.

I had a VX and loved the mpg figures that I could pull with it. But the power bug took over after a while. (I'm hoping to find another VX in good shape for my daily driver)

as far as converting, just make sure that you pay attention to the O2 heater wiring and you'll be fine. (P07-L0X uses 12V on the heater and ground from the ECU to control it, P07-A0X uses ground on the heater and 12V from the ECU to control it)

Just everything seemd to go wrong very too often, things in the motor broke regularly and i babied the crap out of mine as well. And everyone around here who is getting them is running into the same problems i had. IMO i wouldnt do it but its not my car.

 

you do have to work on the VX a little differently than a normal honda. But not it's not really all that different.

If you follow the suggested routine maintance and don't flog the crap out of it, there is no reason the VX will not last 200k+ with no problems.
Mine had 195k before I swapped for more power, I never had any problems with the engine.

bkmc24 - I'm not saying that you beat yours, but it may have been beaten on (or simply ignored for too long) before you bought it.

The only issue I had with my VX is the tranny went out. Otherwise, it's been pretty darn reliable. I'm getting better than the EPA mileage for my car. Love the car - and gas will be at a all time high in the next few weeks (we hit all time high in terms of cost per barrel).
