Default Problem after installing Axle(Driver side)

Got both axle replaced last night.(92 lude,h22 swap)
Only thing is that when I test drove it and started accellerating (punched it!) it started making a nasty sound kinda like scraping, and the car pulled to the left pretty hard. The sound was almost as if the tire was scraping the wheel well. Of course I stopped immediatly. Although Im not sure it was the Axles because when I hit the clutch it kept happening until I stopped, then rode fine while I turned around and went home(drove slowly). I think i may have slightly bent the brake dust guard when jacking the rotor and knuckle up. Or is it possible my drivers side axle isnt all the way in? I did push it past the snap ring so that i cannot pull it back out. Anyone have any ideas on how or what to check out? I did make sure to torque the damper for bolts and Control arm bolts nice and tight.
Again thanks for ANY ideas or suggestions.

Edit: The scraping was inconsistant, almost like it was only rubbing, scraping, whatever on one part. If that helps.

Probably not an axle, but you really need to take that wheel off and look around in there...maybe post some pics if you can.

OKay so on my lunch break I went home and put some power steering fluid into it. It was way low and making that power steering pump noise. I took it for another test drive and it didnt make any of that noise anymore, nor did it pull to the left like it did. however it does have a constant vibration feeling. Is there a break in period or anything?

Could a broken front engine mount possibly be the culprit or part of it?

Chances are it is the axle. If it wasn't happening before the axles were replaced and now it is, the change (new axle) is probably the culprit. Not saying that this IS the problem, but....

Last week: Replaced both axles. Took it for a spin and it seemed fine. The next day I drove about 30 miles before i start hearing this terrible screeching/scrapping sound. What a PIA... so on my commute (~100miles) I ponder wtf it could be. Stopped and checked the area 3 times and find nothing. That night I decided to pull the axle and take it back to Advance (lifetime warranty thank god). In the end it was a defective (made in China) axle. Now I am up and running.

GoodLuck

Put the new axles in yesterday and it looks like there is no vibration during all of first gear, but when i get to second for some reason it starts to vibrate a little. Only vibrates under acceleration, but still not nearly as bad as it was before. It seems to be coming from the drivers side also. Is it possible for unbalanced wheels to cause vibration? Thanks again

What kind of vibration are we talking about? steering wheel ?

EDIT: have you ever thought that the vibration could be because your front motor mount is shot?

Well It seems like the front end starts to vibrate. I dont think I can feel much through the steering wheel though. And yes, Im going to replace the Front Mount ASAP! IS it possible for unbalanced wheel to cause vibration only under acceleration.

it is your axle if it vibrates under accelertion. This means the axle is to long or not installed properly, Believe me i have been working with DSS trying to get the length right on my axles for months now.

I would replace the front mount then reevaluate the vibration.

So the Axels From checkers could be too short? I mean would It make a difference if I only tightened the axle nuts to 150 rather than 180? My torque wrench doesnt go that high! Either way, I went and ordered a mount and will see what happens.

I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO ME. WHEN YOU PULLED THE SHAFT OUT OF THE HALF SHAFT (HANGER) HOW MUCH RUST WAS BUILT UP? IF THE VIBRATION IS UNDER ACCELERATION, THE AXLE IS THE CULPRIT. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE SHAFT IS IMPROPERLY BALANCED, I DOUBT TOO LONG OR SHORT, YOU WOULD PRESUMABLY SEE THAT, AND IF IT WERE TOO LONG, IT WOULDN'T FIT. MY EXPERIENCE WAS RUST IN THE HALF SHAFT, PUT IN NEW SHAFT WITH GLOB OF GREASE ON SPLINES AND I GAVE HER HELL. IF YOU CAN MOVE SHAFT UP AND DOWN WHILE IT IS INSTALLED AND DOWN......PROBLEM...

Well I didnt notice any rust at all. So if the shaft is unbalanced, how is that fixed? Im sure they are the right length thought because i lined them up with the old ones. Is it possible that the motor is sitting wrong and causing the vibration?

I thought maybe it was, It didnt feel like it was loose when I was under there. I also noticed that it looked like the driver tire sits a bit further back than the passenger. Looks like curb status because of the scars on the rims. I may take it to a shop to get those chassis pieces checked out.

there is your problem. Your frame is bent and your car is out of alignment.

You cant blame it on the frame if he wasnt having the problem before the axle was replaced. I know more than enough people with bent frames, without having this problem, to call you wrong.

I can also see on the inside drivers wheel well, where the tire rubbed a little. Kinda strange. After I replace the mount, I think I am going to take it to the shop for sure.

Okay so it seems that there is a suspension problem of sorts. On the passenger side, when I turn all the way to the left, My wheel rubs slightly on the wheel well. Also I noticed that the Vibration coming from the car seems to only be apparent under full throttle/hard acceleration.

Just an update. I replaced the front engine mount. But i fear that the rear mount may be busted, possibly even a side mount. As far as the axle goes....It seems to vibrate alot less, but none the less there still is some vibration. Not sure what is going on down there. Still havent taken it to the shop either.
