Default Civic SiR & Type R (96-00)

Hey guys im new to this site, and I have been serching my *** off for a pic with a SiR & Type R in the same shot (good front view & side view). I'm selling my R this week and I'm going to be buying a EK (Turbo K swap ) but I'm not too sure on what OEM set up I want to go with, the 96-97 SiR or the 98-99 Type R?

I like both of them alot, so if anyone out there has some good pic's I could really use them. With or without the fog's is cool, I'm not too picky on those anyways.

One more question? If I do go with the 96-97 SiR OEM kit, can I still run the 99 Type R head lights? I've been seeing conversion kit's from 96-97 to 98-99 but most dont specify if there is any differance in the housing, it's mostly just bumpers.

Thanks for all the help, hopefully the Civic Forum offers more help without all the BS in the Type R room.

96-98 headlights are a different shape than 99-00 lights

Damn.. That's crap.. I like the 99 Type R black housing and the elimination of the amber section sooo much too. But I'm kinda digging the thin molding all the way around on the SiR too... Guess I'm just going to have to do a 98+ conversion.

Thanks for the help man , you know of anyone besides passwordjdm that's selling 98+ conversion kits for a 96 HB?

they're 99+ conversions. look in the marketplace once you get off trial user status.

yeah 99-00 front with oem lip/grill, jdm mirrors, thin side moldings, 99 rear tail lights, ctr wing you cant really go wrong

but if you run the 96-98 sir bumpers it rarely is pulled off and looks good, but whatever you pick

you can still get black housing headlights with no amber but they are going to be the 96-98 headlight instead of the 99-00 headlight.

96-98 CTR headlight

99-00 CTR headlight

SSSShhhiiizzzzzaaaMMMMM !!!! CW CTR FTW!!! That OEM CTR kit OWNES the OEM SiR's !!!

The only thing, NOT to take away from the pureness of the CTR but the lack of OEM head light's was a 1/2 point deducted from the boner score..

Does anyone have a side by side pic of 2 OEM CTR's? One with the fog's and one without the fog's? Maybe even 2 good pic's that we could compare of differant cars? Thanks for the help in advance !!

96-98 and 99-00 have different headlight casing..

if you want to convert to 99-00 that would be possible..other 96-98 owners do it.. =D

I hate that people still think that EK4s are only '96-'98. People who think that... you are wrong.

I always thought it was silly to get a car and modify it to look like other stock cars that you had readily available to you.
