Default Operation: Restore my 1995 Prelude: writeups/diy's/ mad pics! no 56k

Over the past 3 years, my car has undergone several overhauls, some under extreme time constrains, and unfortunately corners were cut. Now at school, I have been forced to DD my prelude. It squeaks, clanks, and makes tons of strange noises. In addition there are several issues that NEED to get taken care of.

Here is a list of the current problems:

-All 4 balljoints in the front are ripped
- the passenger lower makes a TON of noise!!!
-Hood bolts are stripped, leaving me w/ one bolt on each side.
-The flat screw that screws onto the window fell off, so the window is all fubared
-Exhaust sounds like a ricebomb. (old RSR exmag muffler??)
-There is a squeak coming from the rear suspension (Passenger upper ball joint?)
-Trunk Latch Cable broke (plastic piece)
- so to open my trunk, i just have to pull on the trunk cable from in front of my seat (pics coming soon)
-Front amber signals has a broken tab (currently double stick taped and looks goofy)
- New set are in transit!
-Interior is stripped. I need to locate a 94-96 rear interior
-Nitrous gauge needs to be mounted and installed
- must order fittings
-Inline fuel filter w/ 6AN SS line to be installed

Does anyone know the part number for the window screw?
A good location to order Ball Joints?

Updates and pictures coming soon. Mods please do not delete

I am actually doing the same thing you are. My 92 is going under the knife too. COMPLETE rebuild. I have been planning to do this for almost 2 years. My car has gone to shyt over the last 2 years. Most issues weren't worth fixing because it wouldn't make sense to (i.e. new front bumper with paint, fixing AC, changing windshield, fix driver's side where a lady sideswiped me)

Can't wait to see your progress pics!

EDIT: Are you talking about part# 21?

hahaha i would love to help you out but that is the only stuff i am not selling off my prelude. 1 year ago i went to the stealership and had 3 thousand dollars of parts and 1500 dollars of labour done on the suspension. everything, axles, balljoints, radious rods, wheel bearings, etc. All of them replaced to get rid of squeaks, cracks, and just general oldness. After all the work the car feels like its rolled right off the truck it came on hahaha. My new 4th gen is getting all of that stuff slapped onto it since my old on got written off.

your list isn't to bad though. Balljoints are pretty cheap but getting them pressed is what jacks the price up. Go to honda to buy the parts. Quality is OEM (Second to none) and its worth spending the extra money on. I have yet to have been able to buy from companies that claim oem quality or better and have great fitment and have the product last more than a year or two.

i see that you live in rochester. thats where i picked up my car and i need to do some serious brake/suspension work very soon. my calipers and most everything on my suspension is rusted to hell from being in NY. good luck with it, everything is always SOOOO much more rusted than you think once you start working on it. at least on my car and it was a 2001.
