Default Completely stumped

So my car doesnt stop sputtering. I've replaced the piping from the first flange to the muffler, along with the muffler, had a major tune up, my cat is perfectly fine. Anyone have any ideas to what it could be. Thanks for any help in advance.

please edit your name so I don't have to look at that ugly mess of capatalization errors every time I click on one of your threads.

What do you mean by sputtering? It just sounds bad or it doesn't run quite right?

I don't really know the exact words to explain it, but its kind of like a pft at idle, and when i'm accelerating it jerks a small amount. Its usually only in idle and 5th.

Check the flex piping coming off the motor. Get underneath the car and look for either a crack or hole or rust or something. Your pipes may be coming apart as well, if bolts aren't secure.

If there's a hole, you're probably better off just replacing it, rather than trying to repair it.

Just a thought but if youre driving around in 5th going less than 40mph it isnt going to exactly get up and go cause you're not using the right gear it's going to sputter a little until it reachs the higher rpms. Just my two cents

i know that everyone talking about your pipes....but i was just wondering if this started after you did the tune up??? and also, what do you mean by MAJOR YUNE UP..... what do you consider major???.....so we know what/where to start..

if it did start after your tuneup or shortly after it id chech out the parts that were replaced or tuned...pretty much back track if you havent already...just to make sure all is within oem specs....

GL...

keep us posted

what kind of spark plugs you got in it. they should be platinum or better otherwise they foul out fast. NGK 7100 are the plugs i would use in that. and check your plug wires
