Default pulling A/C belt off

ive recently discovered my A/C compressor is going bad , it is making whining noise

so its getting pretty cold now and i wont be using the A/C anytime soon, do you guys recommend me to just take the A/C belt off so it wont continue spinning the A/C compressor pulley? then when summer time put it back in and fix it or w/e then?

cause really it looks like a bitch to get that thing swapped out and i prefer doing it in the summer.

yes, checked with a stethoscope today in my mechanics class. at first it sounded like it was the power steering pump, but we took the belt off and it still made the noise.

so i ended up cutting the belt because after taking it off the pulley and stuff, i couldn't find a way to take the belt out as if it was put in there magically. like there is this piece that runs from the motor to the chassis is in the middle of the belt. i was so confused anyone know what im talking about can explain the way around it? thanks

yeah aside from removing all the other belts to put a new a/c belt on you have to take the bolt out of the a/c bracket from the fender well to get the a/c belt on.

i can't get away from working on A/C systems in hondas haha i'm a tech at a shop and it's what i do haha i've done it all...thermal protector switch, i've even swapped out the A/C clutch inside the compressor itself while the compressor was still in the car haha

haha you will see it, it's a 17mm nut...if you look in the driver side fender well there will be a circle cut out and the nut will be right there, that is what connects the bracket to the mount.
