Default motor rebuild.

so i got this motor from a buddy its built for turbo but needs new rings so ima tear it apart hone it re ring it.. etc... what u guys think about block guards.. worth it?? for hte 60 bucks... then gettin the head and block surfaced... im tearing the motor down bc it smokes and low comp in the 3rd cyclender u guys with me that tis rings rite.. did leak down and no air coming out of exusht or tb.. all input is welcome..

Keep in mind that I know nothing, but I have heard mixed feelings about block guards. They may cost $60, but proper installation may be much more than that. If I had the cash I would go all out and sleeve it depending on my whp goals.

**** i wish i had 1000 bucks to sleeves... yeah and install is only 60 bucks im tite with the local machine shop... im runnin low boost so sleeves arnt that important..
just gettin some input. for u guys.

dont bother

stock sleeves if in good condition can hold 400whp. 200-300whp is nothing.
