Default Vtec problem?

Ok, so i have a 92 civic cx with a jdm integra Type r swap The mods are 4-1 Megan header, test pipe, full exhaust, 255 fuel pump, whale ***** intake, p05 ecu with a chip and a street tune (chrome) When i get on in first and second it is fine, but when I am in 3rd or 4th in vtec a CEL will come on and i can feel vtec dissengage. It might be because I am in vtec longer in those gears and there is a short somewhere, I am not sure.. I know vtec had to be wired manually seeing as it is a p05 ecu (stock cx). Any ideas? Thanks

how do you get rid of the CEL? is it always there? if so, check what code it's throwing.

I just reread your original post and that one line stands out. Sure VTEC has to be wired manually if you're using the stock CX harness, but hopefully you're not trying to use the p05 to run the ITR..? Should be a p73...

Where was is manually wired to? In the 92 CX you can just tie it into the engine harness because from the strut tower to the ecu is already done for you.
