today when i was driving home from work just cruising on the freeway, car at normal operating temps i heard a funky noise (radio was up so not sure what noise) and my car lost all power to accelerate and could barely idle at 100 rpms. i turn it off pull over and it's dead won't start.
i open up the hood and coolant is EVERYWHERE on the left side. all over my radiator hoses, battery, air box, everything on that left (passenger) side. so wtf? i figure my headgasket gave out. motor has higher mileage i've never changed it.
when my brother arrives i try to start it not wanting to leave it were it was on a off ramp. it starts and runs perfect. i drove it all the way home. did a compression test and 150,140,140,140. help me out here guys.

i don't know thats what i can't figure out. it exploaded somewhere on that passenger side. it ran perfect coming home stayed at 1/3 - 1/2 temp. i am stumped. thinking maybe something in the rear that has coolant? anyone have a decent diagram showing which lines in the back have coolant flowing through them?
One of my buddy's had this happen to his girl's 91 Civic. The culprit in her problem was one of the coolant hoses that goes from the block to the little switched valve into the heater core. I'd check back there first...two hoses that should be right next to each other, closest to the firewall, nearly damn center of the car.
Good luck.
Good luck.

pressure test the system to make sure the system is leaking or not. Ive seen it happen before open the hood and there is coolant everywhere but what people fail to do is check the radiator cap sure it looks like its on and tight but loosen it up and double check the oring in the cap it probably took a **** and as you were driving all the coolant came out of there.
