Alright, I've been having problems with my coolant. Whenever i drive for awhile my overflow tank fills up and starts bubbling n steaming. I read almost all the threads about overheating and i changed the thermostat twice and flushed my coolant twice. Only thing i havent tried is changing my waterpump. But now my car temps jumps all the way to H but when i turn on the heater theres no heat. So now im to scared to drive my car, any advice would be truly grateful. Thanks in Advance.
Also when I start up the car to warm up, once it hits operating temp the rpm starts jumping up to 2000 rpms and back

ummm im gonna take a guess and say theres blockage in either your radiator, heater core, or your upper and lower radiator hoses. Fluid backing up into the overflow I think would be a sign of this.
also is the blower working and no hot air is coming out or is it not blowing at all? if its just that there is no hot air then im gonna say that the anti-freeze isnt getting around to the heater core to exchange the heat hence the rapid over heating and rpm jump due to the ecu wanting to cool the motor down by increasing coolant flow.
None of this is for sure but could be a starting point, id take a day off work and drain your coolant and disconnect your hoses/radiator etc.
good luck!!!

Back when I had my Legend, I had my car SERIOUSLY begin to overheat (as far as the needle would go) I had the top of the overflow bottle explode into a fury of really hot liquid. Got it looked at and it was blocked up with this charcoal sludge. New radiator and a coolant flush, and it was better than normal.

I havent changed the radiator cap but it doesnt seem like anythings wrong with it. When i flush the coolant i drain it all out and put water in it while the engine runs to get every coolant out. I have been told that it could be a cracked head but i want to not jump that far,If there is something clogging the coolant how can i find out where to look? With that said when i was changing the thermostats i squeezed the hoses and heard alot of crunching noises like there was alot of build up. Could that have clogged something? if so where would or could it be clogged. Thanks for the advices.
You can do a compression check to test for a leaking head gasket. Also look for signs of water in your oil.
Does your bottle overflow and then the car overheats or does the reverse scenario occur?

I am sticking with a big air bubble.
Take the cap off and start the car, put the heater on FULL BLAST. Let the car idle for a while The fan will need to kick on twice. You might get some overflow out of the radiator but dont worry too much. Once the fan kick on once i usually rev the engine a bit jsut to get the water flowing a bit faster.
Once the fan has kicked on twice I would put the cap back on and go for a drive.
This will either solve the problem, or it will at lease eliminate any chance of having a bubble

I started having the problem with the overflow tank filling up and bubbling and steaming up, thats when i changed the thermostat and coolant. But then it started overheating on top of the first problem which started scaring me. I somehow somewhere lose coolant too which i have no clue where it goes cuhz i dont see no spills or white smoke are any smoke at that coming from my exhaust
agreed, I had a similar experience when I recently changed my coolant. when you filled it with coolant, did you put it in the rad and the res? or just the res? if it was just the res, then that is your problem. not enough coolant and an airpocket. also, take off your oil filler cap and if there is a milky film on the threads, then you know its a blown headgasket. there are other ways to tell, but that is an obvious one.
after you flushed and refilled coolant did you run the car without the radiator cap for like five mins or so? thats what i did and you can see small air pockets pop up.
as for the reservoir tank overflowing something must be cloggin one of the hoses cuz its not letting the coolant flow to the engine so it flows into the reserve tank.

Both times i changed my coolant i flled up the res and radiator, using the whole bottle of coolant. But yea im going to change the hoses ,rad cap and new coolant again i guess. If that does not worl *Sigh* i dont know
I meant have you tried a new radiator cap, etc.?
The lower hose (return hose) may crunch due to a spring that prevents the hose from collapsing. Do you see flow in the radiator when you are refilling it?

i havent replaced the radiator cap yet but i went through the archives and i found this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=435911 and i did not bleed the system like what they said. can someone show me a pic or something of where that 12mm is? Also i have read where people rewire their fans to come on all the time or have a manual switch. can someone also show me or giv me directions on how to do that and what i need to do that. Thanks in Advance

The radiator fill port is the high point on my '97 GSR, which has no bleed screw.
