i have a stamp next to my oil pan on the bottom of my motor and was curious what it is.it says either ccbbc or bbccb. it is a b16 by the way.

 

Can you provide a picture? Is it by the clutch cover plate or is it in between the front and rear engine stiffners?

 

no the stamp near the tranny if ur facing the car it's on ur left hand side by the clutch mechanism.

 

sorry i can currently provide a pick i saw it when i was doing the exhaust on my car it is on the exhaust side of the motor in about the center it is very finely etched in. i bought the motor as i built swap and was wondering if that maybe has anything to do with it.

I am not sure but seems like a identification code not serial number. May be that bbccbb stands for 223322 like that for the order from 000000- to number of cars sold from assembly line. I dunno but it is not important. B16a All the Way.
