Fuel Pump and Starting Problems!!
Just bought a civic hatch no swaps or anything yet just stock everything. Anyways, it was running fine and then I get in to start it one day and it will turn but not catch and fire. A friend of mine with the same car except for a b18c and turbo told me that it sounded like the fuel pump so we tore up the back seat and replaced the fuel pump because you could not hear it coming on. Well that didn't work we checked everything the two of us could think of. The only thing we didn't try and replace is the fuel pump relay or the ECU. I was told by a honda mechanic that if the relay is ok you will hear a click sound when you turn the key. Well there is no click sound so I was wondering if maybe it is the relay but then some else said that it could be the ECU. I don't know what to do! I don't want to sink a lot of money into this stupid problem so if anyone out there has had this problem or might know what is wrong please throw me a line. Thanks!!
the main realy controls the fuel pump, and inyection.... if it goes bad the car wonr work...
go to the gas feed line and check if u got fuel pressure by just loosning a little the hose( it should spray gas... tight it if it does) if it has press it will spray.. then ur fuel press its good...... check ur ingnition cables, conectors... take a spark plug.. if its wet and smells a lot like gas, then ur inyectors are fine... if u turn ur key in ON and u dont hear a little click sound under the dash (driver side, next to hood release thingy) then ur relay its bad.. u can buy a new relay.. they run for like 35$ on http://www.manchesterhonda.com .....
a car basicaly needs air/gas, spark, to turn on.. i get air, and get fuel then u got ignition problems... try by taking options out and checking all ur ****.. peace
