Default cambelt change

1992 honda crx delsol. How often should the cambelt be changed on these cars.

Was changed last at 60,000 miles.

Default Re: cambelt change (saunders400)

Honda timing belts are awsome, totally race worthy (but not the best, but better than a NAPA unit). Yet, with an interference engine, it's best to change them sooner than the Honda maint. schedule says. I would change it every 50,000 mi, along with the water pump, belt tensioner + spring. I did a timing belt 2 yeras ago and used a NAPA water pump. It's squealing already and I don't rev it abusively much. Guess NAPA pumps don't like 8000+rpm...
